Have you guys heard about this?! Google recently launched Art Project, which lets you see artwork at museums worldwide, in incredible close-up detail. You can even “create and share your own collection of masterpieces”! And — this is my favorite part — 17 pieces have been photographed in a 7 billion pixel (or gigapixel) version. 7 billion pixels!!! In real museums you can’t get that close to a famous old painting, in case you sneeze or breath on it. But this way, you can pore over every brush stroke.
