OMG! Meijer just txted me!

So, I noticed a while ago that Meijer (the grocery store) has a program that lets you sign up to get text message alerts, including alerts about rising gas prices.

I know that not everyone reading this drives or buys gas, but what do you think of this? Would you sign up to get texts from a company, or do you prefer texting as a way to talk to friends?

Even more interesting…what if the LIBRARY texted you?! You could find out when that book or movie you reserved comes in…or you could text a librarian with a homework question. It may be possible soon…tell me what you think!!

This sounds like a fantastic idea! I can already configure Google Calendar to send me text reminders about meetings, birthdays, whatever! So I’d be extra excited if the library would do the same!

Wow i really think of texting as a way to talk with friends. It might be a bit strange if meijer texted me. Especially since i only have a cartain number of text a month!! Disregaurding that i think it would be very cool if the library could text me about my overdue books because i check my text wayyy more than my email!! Than my mom wouldn’t always be nagging me about my overdue books. That sounds like a great idea to me

my dentist texts me about appointments and i don’t like paying for it.
