Super Smash Bros. Melee

 

Come to our Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament tomorrow at the Library! It’s for ages 12-18. Register online with your library card, or by signing in by 3:30 on the day of the tournament.

Here’s the scoop:

3:00-3:30 p.m.

Check in/Register for tournament

Build playing brackets

Open play

3:30 p.m.

Elimination rounds begin

5:30 p.m.

Finals & awarding of prizes

6:00 p.m.

Library closes – Happy weekend!

General:

Built-in Tournament Mode will be used (Computer characters if necessary).

Single elimination.

3 stock, 3 min. limit. If more than 48 players, then 3 stock, 2 min. limit.

No banned stages. Stage selection = random.

All banned items.

No sudden death.

Choose one character – no switching during the tournament.

You will receive a number when you register.

Controllers may be brought, as long as no special features, such as autofire, are used. No turbo controllers.

i played this kid mike mariconda, he is the greatest melee player i have ever seen, thank god he didn’t show up to the tournament

thank goodness for the structure
the last time i played in this tournamnet i got 5 more kills than everyone else but it was on timed stock so i got kicked out in a sudden death by someone who had no kills

Melee is nice, but Brawl is just that awesome. I’ve already played Melee and beat Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Bowser, and even Giga Bowser (the really ugly version of Bowser XD). I’ve also played Brawl and beat the Subspace Emissary — on INTENSE difficulty! I even got a nice little Tabuu trophy. ^_^

We have to do another one. I missed this one, and Melee competitive tournaments around here are close to never seen. Just a few requests if this happens:

– Follow the official rules from Smashboards; some stages banned, no items, double elimination, eight minute, four stock, no sudden death unless necessary to do.

– Start the tournament up earlier.

– …don’t do Brawl. It is not a game developed for tournaments. -___-

Hopefully we will do another one of these soon, though. I would love to get back into competitive Melee, even though I was only at one tourney…..
