Those of y’all who read this blog (all three of you!) may have noticed the more sporadic posts lately. I have a confession to make: I’ve been cheating on this blog with…Facebook. Yes, everything you’ve heard is true. FB’s email alerts, comment conversations, the quick picture/link posting abilities, and the ability to connect with teen library users who I know in real life, have all conspired to keep my attention more than Wordpress.

Yes, you read that right!

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 7, Summer 2010 Teen Volunteers are invited to celebrate another summer well done. Come for FREE PIZZA @ noon, stay to hear the Detroit rock band The High Strung @ 2 pm, then chill with some videogames @ 4 pm. Hope to see you there!

Calling all Percy Jackson fans! There are only a few spots left for our Percy Jackson Party, tomorrow from 2-3 pm at the library! Ages 8-15 should register in advance; older participants, let me know if you want to volunteer.

Special guests The Royal Arts Fencing Academy will be here for a demonstration and your personal sword fighting lesson! You may come dressed as your favorite Greek god or goddess, Titan or monster (which will surely make for some great pictures ;) ) There will also be games, crafts, and more! Hope to see you there!

I’ve gone every year since I’ve worked in Westerville, and it’s always a great time: good music, amazing artwork, and plenty of chances to sit in the sun with a lemonade and (my personal favorite) funnel cake. :) And did you know that some of our local artists have artwork you can check out from the library?! It’s true!

Anyone planning on going? Maybe I’ll see you there!
