Survey!

This is the world’s shortest survey. It only has one question.

If an alien ray blanketed the Earth making all iPods able to hold only one song, what song would be in yours?

Or to put it another way, if you could only listen to one song from now till eternity, what would it be?

Comment with your answer! The winning song will be posted soon!

Paramore’s newest song, Decode, was just made for the Twilight soundtrack. Paramore is a huge Twilight fan. So much that she hasn’t even gotten to the Harry Potter books. (She’s seen the movies.)

For more information, check out Stephenie Meyer’s official web site!

Thanks for the post, Twilightluver!! :) And for more information on Paramore’s love of the Twilight series, check out this article, found by alert reader and guest blogger Novelwriter65.

Just a belated picture posting from our 2nd Guitar Hero tournament on August 10. I don’t know which was more popular, Guns ‘n Roses or Nirvana — but the guitar skills were flying and the Mama Mimi’s pizza was inhaled!

Stay tuned for word of future gaming tournaments, and thanks to all the gaming gurus who lent their advice!

What do you guys think of this…a computer where you can manipulate all sorts of things through a tabletop surface?

I think it would be great in restaurants and lobbies…but I still like the iPhone ’cause you can carry it around.

Was she your pick??

I guess now we will have to make do with CDs and DVDs till the next season starts…

From Yahoo News:

The big voice overwhelmed the beatbox Wednesday night as Jordin Sparks was crowned the newest and youngest “American Idol.” Sparks, 17, of Glendale, Ariz., prevailed over beatboxer Blake Lewis, 25, of Bothell, Wash., after a triumphant performance Tuesday that wowed the show’s judges and the viewers who gave her a majority of the record 74 million votes cast.

Who do you think will win the American Idol finale tonight?

Simon says they’re the most evenly matched finalists yet, and either one could win!

Oh, the suspense!!

Wordsworth Rap

The poet Wordsworth is best known for his poem “I wandered lonely as a cloud.”

Here is an updated version done by a rapping squirrel. Really.

Is this either…

  • a very cool way to update stuffy poetry for the YouTube generation, or
  • a horribly cheesy thing to do to great literature?

You tell me!

Give your opinion on what you check out

Did you know you can write a review of anything in the library catalog? Just find the item that you’d like to review and click “Write a Review” on the left of the screen:

Write a Review graphic

Then type your thoughts – the good, the bad, and the ugly (but not too ugly)! They will post the next day when they are approved.

Read some reviews written by others here and here.

Jump in! – the next High School Musical?

Jump In movie still

I just saw this article about Disney Channel’s hopeful follow-up to High School Musical. Whether you loved or hated HSM, you will recognize curly-haired Corbin Bleu as Izzy, a young boxer who finds he digs the competitive double Dutch in his neighborhood. Of course his dad’s not too happy (he wants him to become a boxing champ)…and of course there’s a hint of romance with his double Dutch teammate, Mary.

Since I just posted about how skateboarding’s not just for guys, I thought this would be a good follow-up. Jumping rope — it’s not just for girls!

And *just in case* you were wondering, production on High School Musical 2 is set to begin soon.

Elvis has left the building…but he’s online.

Posted on December 28th, 2006 by Becky.
Categories: All posts, Music, Random Fun.

I just saw this article about efforts to make Elvis cool again. He’s on MySpace, he’s on YouTube, and he’s about to be on a Hershey’s wrapper (you’ll have to read it to find out about that!).

Moving Elvis content online should be easy; making Elvis cool again will be more difficult. After all, for most kids, Elvis is the music of their parents’ — or grandparents’ — generation.

Is it possible to make Elvis cool again? Or is he still cool? :)

Or should I ask, is it possible to reinvent yourself online — even if you’re dead??
