Printing from all Opacs in the library should be working now.
We’ve been experiencing some problems with our email server over the past few weeks. You may notice email going up and down with periodic unavailability. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will work to stabilize the server and let you know when we get this accomplished.
The technical services department hosted the annual volunteer appreciation party. Pictures were taken and are available on the P drive in the pictures folder, look for the “Volunteer_appreciation_party” folder (come and take a look) . Thank you Audrey, Ellen and Margery for your hard word and dedication!!!

The Apple Tech had to reschedule from yesterday but he is onsite right now (10:05am) repairing the iMac.
The iMac #2 repair is now complete.
The telephone renewal system is back up and running. We will continue to monitor the stability of it for the next few weeks. Please continue to let us know if patrons call in reporting issues with the system.
If UPS or Fed Ex ever stops by wanting to deliver packages during normal business hours you can send them to the elevator that leads to Tech Services and ask them to push the red alarm bell on the elevator door. This will sound an alarm that alerts Tech Services staff to bring them to our department.

When you must walk away from your computer it is always a good idea to lock the computer. This will prevent an unauthorized person from walking up to the computer after you and using it under your account. To lock your computer simply press Windows logo key and L at the same time. When you come back to your computer simply press CTRL and ALT and DELETE together and reenter your password to unlock your computer.
It is especially a good idea to lock your computers at the service desks where an unscrupulous person could potentially gain access to privileged staff information and programs such as the P: drive and Millennium, if a staff member was logged in.

This week, Victor completed our entry into the 2007 Be Innovative Award Contest. This year, we entered in the category for the most innovative marketing of an Innovative product or service. We chose our recent iPod contest that encouraged users to submit reviews and join the Web 2.0 revolution! We will know if we won, shortly after ALA Midwinter in January. Here is a link to the contest entry: http://www.westervillelibrary.org/beinnovative/
