Quote of the Week

July 1st, 2008

Now, living by oneself in a studio apartment, one becomes highly attuned to any minor changes. What would normally be pinned on a roommate becomes the work of the paranormal…The alternatives are unthinkable…

April 16th, 2008

The entertainment world may be just as book obsessed as we are! Not only have 1,000s of books been made in to movies, but tons of movies have set scenes in the library. My personal favorite is Matilda, but some other classics are All the President’s Men, The Breakfast Club, Ghostbusters, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

As Seen on TV: Analog Goes Digital

March 5th, 2008

tv2.pngYou may have seen these ads and panicked. Analog TV is going the way of the dinosaur. All television broadcasts in the U.S. will stop broadcasting in analog and switch to 100% digital broadcasting on February 17, 2009.

Why? Digital broadcasting promises to provide a clearer picture and more programming options and will free up airwaves for use by emergency responders.

What should you do? If you have an analog TV, you can purchase a TV converter box to make it compatible with digital broadcasting. If you have analog cable or satellite service, you must contact your provider. Or, you can purchase a television with a digital tuner.

Check out the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s site on Digital Television Transition and Public Safety for more information.

Get a TV Converter Box coupon.

Still not sure what to do? Take a quick quiz to find out.
